Overview

This tour consists of 11 Days, starting in Windhoek. Next, we will explore Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland and Etosha. On the last day we will return to Windhoek after a few wonderful days.

Day 1 - Windhoek

Day Travelling Distance: 40km

Meet the rest of the group at Hosea Kutako Airport where we will gather and start of our Namibian adventure! We’ll head out for an exciting city tour of Windhoek, visiting all the must-see spots. Get ready to explore the heart of the city and discover its history and culture!

  • Independence Memorial Museum: Learn about Namibia’s struggle for independence and its journey to becoming a sovereign nation

Day 2 - Sossusvlei

Day Travelling Distance: 300km

Today, we will travel from Windhoek to our Lodge near Sossusvlei, enjoying the beautiful sights along the way. We’ll stop at Solitaire, a small town known for its famous apple pie. There, we can explore and relax before continuing our journey.

Day 3 - Sossusvlei

Day Travelling Distance: 240

Today, we’ll visit Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, Dune 45, and Sesriem. We’ll have the chance to walk through the desert and explore these well-known spots. It will be an exciting day of exploring and taking in the desert surroundings.

  • Sossusvlei: Famous salt and clay pan surrounded by towering sand dunes, offering breathtaking desert views
  • Deadvlei: Explore the striking white clay pan dotted with ancient, stark black trees and surrounded by towering red dunes
  • Iconic Dunes: Climb some of the tallest sand dunes in the world, including Dune 45 and Big Daddy, to witness breathtaking sunrise and sunset views
  • Sesriem Canyon: A narrow, dramatic canyon carved by the Tsauchab River, with interesting rock formations and a refreshing waterhole

Day 4 - Swakopmund

Day Travelling Distance: 300km

Today, we’ll drive from Sossusvlei to Swakopmund, passing through open desert and small towns. Along the way, we’ll see interesting rock formations and vast stretches of sand. It’s a great opportunity to take in the wide, peaceful desert views before we reach the coast.

  • Solitaire: A tiny, remote settlement known for its quirky gas station, bakery (famous for apple pie), and as a pit stop for travelers
  • Namib Desert Views: As we leave Sossusvlei, you’ll continue through the striking, vast landscapes of the Namib Desert with towering dunes and stark, empty terrain
  • Kuiseb Canyon: As we head further north, enjoy the views of Kuiseb Canyon, another beautiful, remote location with rugged desert landscapes

Day 5 - Swakopmund

Today, we’ll explore Swakopmund and visit Desert Explorers, where we can join a guided tour of the desert. They offer activities like quad biking, sandboarding, and many others. It’s a fun way to experience the desert and learn more about the beautiful town of Swakopmund.

Day 6 - Twyfelfontein

Day Travelling Distance: 330km

Today, we’ll travel from Swakopmund to Twyfelfontein, making some stops along the way. We’ll visit the Seal Colony at Cape Cross, where we can see hundreds of seals. Then, we’ll explore the Twyfelfontein UNESCO site, known for its ancient rock engravings and rich history.

Highlights:
  • Cape Cross Seal Colony: Visit this large colony where thousands of seals gather on the shore, offering a fascinating wildlife experience
  • Skeleton Coast: As you travel along the coast, you’ll see the barren yet dramatic landscape of the Skeleton Coast, with its shipwrecks and foggy, desolate atmosphere

Day 7 - Palmwag

Today, we’ll travel from Twyfelfontein to Palmwag, stopping along the way to enjoy the views. We’ll also go on a rhino and elephant tracking adventure, where we’ll try to spot these animals in their natural habitat. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the Namibian wildlife.

Day 9 - Etosha (East)

Day Travelling Distance: 180km

Today, we’ll travel through Etosha National Park, exploring the park’s wide variety of wildlife. Along the way, we’ll stop at several waterholes where animals come to drink. This gives us a great chance to see different species up close as they gather around the water, including the infamous Big 5.

  • Etosha Pan: Drive past the large salt pan, which creates a vast, white, barren landscape and attracts a variety of wildlife, especially during the dry season

Day 11 - Windhoek

Today, we’ll head from Mokuti Lodge to Windhoek, with some fun stops along the way. We’ll visit the Crocodile Farm in Otjiwarongo, where you’ll get a chance to see these amazing creatures up close! After that, we’ll wrap up our tour in Windhoek, ready to share all the memories.
